AION 2 Servers: Full List & How to Pick Yours

AION 2 launches with twenty Advanced Access servers across five regions, and picking one is a bigger decision than in most MMOs: factions live on separate home servers, and your choice is permanent. Here is every launch server, how the pairing system works, and how to choose without regretting it in week two.

How servers work in AION 2

Unlike classic AION, where both factions shared a server, AION 2 puts Elyos and Asmodians on separate home servers that are paired for Abyss warfare. Your faction is locked to your server, and the paired opposing server is who you will fight in the Abyss for the life of that pairing. There are no transfers between services (global vs. KR/TW), and at launch no free server transfers — choose like it is permanent, because it is.

EU fields four paired sets (Siel↔Israphel, Nezekan↔Zikel, Vaizel↔Triniel, Kaisinel↔Lumiel), NA East two, NA West one, LatAm two and Asia one. A second wave of "Launch Servers" opened with the October 5 free-to-play launch.

How to pick

Three questions, in order. Where are your friends? Faction and server are both locked, so coordinate before anyone creates a character. Which region is nearest? Ping decides your class options — see the high ping guide. Early Access or Launch Server? The twenty servers above carry a five-day head start and a mature economy; Launch Servers start equal but inherit launch-day queues. Returning players chasing the economy pick the former; fresh groups often prefer the latter.

Population and the Abyss pairing

Faction balance matters more in AION 2 than in most MMOs because your Abyss opponent is fixed by pairing. The classic named servers — Siel, Israphel, Nezekan, Zikel — drew the heaviest veteran populations in the first wave, and early data shows Elyos-leaning populations on most pairings, echoing the Korean launch. If you want the underdog experience, Asmodian servers are it. If you want the busiest Market and fastest dungeon queues, the Elyos side of the oldest pairings is where the crowd is.

One more thing: your name

Character names are unique per server. Advanced Access players claimed names from September 30; if a specific name matters to you, create a character on your chosen server the moment you can, even if you do not plan to play it yet. The release date page has the exact opening times.
